ZIP is a robot powered by the consciousness of his former alien life. Now in Mefu, he's pursuing comedy (with some success).
Under his contract with SMILE! inc., ZIP is not permitted to make his identity as an alien public knowledge, and SMILE! is permitted to take credit for his development. As such, ZIP is marketed as the very first fully robotic comedian, with his sentience being kept a secret from the general public. ZIP is often overworked, under the guise that he cannot become tired.
ZIP develops feelings for his primary mechanic, Macintosh Ortiz, though they are initially unaware that he is sentient. They do form a relationship later, though under ZIP's contract and out of concern for both of their jobs, the two of them keep their job a secret.
- While in Speckled Highlands, he picked up an accordian and has since learned to play it.
- He briefly dabbled in acting before taking up comedy, and starred in one very popular local advertisement in Malachite Valley.
- He is able to consume substances via dowloads, such as PNGs of food or a text document describing a drug's effects.
- He hates using his system defaul voice, although it is often requested during meetings.
